为了 in a sentence

• 为wèi了le学xué中zhōng文wén，他tā去qù了le中zhōng国guó。

  To learn Chinese, he went to China.

• 我wǒ为wèi了le健jiàn康kāng每měi天tiān跑pǎo步bù。

  I run every day for my health.

• 为wèi了le孩hái子zi，她tā工gōng作zuò很hěn努nǔ力lì。

  For her child, she works very hard.

为了 vs 因为 vs 给

Similar and easily confused words, and how they differ.

• 因为 yīn wèi because

  Opposite ends of a sentence: 因为 gives the reason (因为下雨 'because it rained'), 为了 gives the purpose (为了孩子 'for the kids'). Don't swap them.

• 给 gěi for; to give

  Everyday 'for' before a recipient — 给你 'for you', 给我做饭 'cook for me'. 为了 marks purpose, not recipients.
