我 vs 我们 vs 我的 vs 我自己

Similar and easily confused words, and how they differ.

• 我们 wǒ men we; us

  我 + the plural marker 们. 们 attaches to pronouns and people nouns — 我们, 朋友们.

• 我的 wǒ de my; mine

  我 + possessive 的 = 'my'. 的 marks possession here.

• 我自己 wǒ zì jǐ myself

  Reflexive 'myself / on my own' — 我自己做 'I'll do it myself'. Not just 'me'.
